REVEALED: ARTEMIS NAMED AS SAILGP’S 13TH TEAM

SailGP has revealed its 13th team for 2026 – Artemis SailGP Team – bringing back one of the sport’s most innovative and respected challengers.
Led by CEO Iain Percy, an Olympic gold medallist and veteran of multiple America’s Cup campaigns, the Swedish outfit is ready to make an immediate impact when SailGP’s sixth season kicks off in January 2026 in Perth, Australia.
The return is powered by Artemis Racing owner Torbjörn Törnqvist, reigniting Sweden’s proud sailing heritage and competitive spirit on one of sport’s fastest stages.
Adding even more firepower, Olympic champion Nathan Outteridge has been named driver.
Outteridge steered Japan SailGP Team to success in the league’s opening two seasons, as well as making a cameo for Danish team ROCKWOOL Racing in Season 4.
The Australian, who most recently won the 37th America’s Cup with Emirates Team New Zealand, is relishing the chance to rejoin SailGP at the wheel of its newest team.
“Reuniting with Iain, Torbjörn and the Artemis team for this new chapter in SailGP is incredibly exciting,” Outteridge said.
“We’ve shared huge moments together in the past, and bringing that experience, trust and energy into this arena gives us a powerful foundation.
“This is a new challenge for all of us – a chance to showcase what Swedish sailing can achieve in one of the toughest and fastest stages in the world.
“We’re approaching this season with focus, ambition and the belief that we can set the standard for what’s possible in this championship.”

Artemis Racing has long been associated with excellence and innovation, from international circuit wins to America’s Cup campaigns in 2013 and 2017. For Percy, this next chapter is about transferring that legacy into SailGP.
“I’m proud to lead Artemis SailGP Team as we return to the global stage with a clear focus – leveraging cutting-edge technology, a world-class line-up, and the hard-won lessons from America’s Cup,” Percy said.
“SailGP is redefining the sport with unmatched speed, innovation, and fan engagement. Bringing Sweden into this elite championship is a milestone we’re proud of, and we’re determined to compete at the very highest level – pushing boundaries both on and off the water.”
SailGP CEO Russell Coutts welcomed the addition, adding: “We’re thrilled to welcome Artemis SailGP Team to the Rolex SailGP Championship. Bringing a remarkable depth of talent, experience, and professionalism that will undoubtedly elevate the competitiveness of the league, they’re expected to be a real contender from the very first race of the 2026 Season.”
Artemis SailGP Team completes the 2026 Season line-up, and will reveal its full crew in the coming weeks.
